Serendipity and Entropy

How do we balance our scientific understanding of a rules based universe with the connections that seem to then break those rules.

Serendipity means a “happy accident” or “pleasant surprise”; a fortunate mistake. Specifically, the accident of finding something good or useful while not specifically searching for it.

And how do we explain us? Do we defy entropy and continue to struggle against the ever expanding universe and reduction of energy?

In order for us to be here, is there a part of the universe that is our messy opposite?

Apophenia /æpɵˈfiːniə/ is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data.

So, where does that leave us? Well, just where we were before. Does it leave you any wiser? Any happier?

Well, it does mean that when you see things that appear to be connected – they probably aren’t. You’re making the connection … that is, the act of observation is making the connection. The connection is only made by you because you’re the observer of the events.

Now that you see that, you can be less worried about all the mess.
